What is Hyaluronic Acid?

February 01, 2016

As you look through the Timeless Skin Care line of natural skincare products, you’ll see that we offer a few items with hyaluronic acid. One of our Pure Line products is a 100 percent pure concentration of hyaluronic acid.

Many people don’t know what hyaluronic acid is, and some of our customers that have heard of it wonder if it’s derived from an animal. Hyaluronic acid, put simply, is a natural substance that occurs in human tissue composition, and it’s what keeps skin hydrated. We offer hyaluronic acid, and hyaluronic acid cream, that’s not sourced from animals and that’s extremely compatible as a source of human skin hydration.

Understanding Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid is a natural polysaccharide that’s found in various tissues in the human body. It’s responsible for tissue hydration and lubrication, and it holds 1000 times its own weight in water!

Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally (and abundantly) in humans and is found in young skin, other tissues, and joint fluid. It’s a component of the body’s connective tissues, and it’s known to cushion and lubricate.

Where Does Our Hyaluronic Acid Come From?

Our hyaluronic acid is vegan and not derived from rooster combs, which is where many other beauty product companies source their hyaluronic acids. We produce our hyaluronic acid by fermenting a safe bacterial strain in a process that is environmentally friendly. Our hyaluronic acid is 100 percent free of animal-derived raw ingredients, and we never test our product on animals.

What Are the Benefits of Hyaluronic Acid?

As the body ages, the forces of nature can destroy hyaluronic acid in the skin. Poor diet and smoking also negatively affect the hyaluronic acid in skin.

Since hyaluronic acid is a super moisturizer for the skin, we provide it to you in pure form and in anti-aging eye cream, so that you can get this sometimes-lost substance back. Hyaluronic acid rehydrates and softens tired and aged skin. It also helps to carry other nutrients into the dermis, and epidermis, of the skin.

To promote healing, reduce inflammation, and keep your skin timelessly beautiful, you can turn to our percent pure Hyaluronic Acid Serum or our Hyaluronic Eye Cream.
