Taking care of your skin is essential to your overall health because it is your body’s largest organ. From using the correct coenzyme q10 serum and moisturizer to limiting your time in the sun, there are many things you can do to keep your skin looking fabulously fresh. One other important aspect of your skin care routine should be nourishing your skin from the inside out with essential vitamins to look healthy and youthful.

Supplying your skin with the right vitamins can reduce:

  • Redness
  • Rough spots
  • Excessive dryness
  • Wrinkles
  • Dark patches

Vitamin D

While many skincare experts recommend not staying in the sun for long periods of time, getting 10 to 15 minutes of sun exposure per day is a great source of Vitamin D. This nutrient enters your body when sunlight is absorbed by the skin and helps to make healthy cells. It may even help to treat psoriasis. Eating fortified foods, such as yogurt and orange juice, also supplies your skin with a healthy dose of Vitamin D.

Vitamin C

This vitamin is found in the outer and inner layers of your skin and helps to promote the production of collagen. Taking Vitamin C pills orally can also enhance the effectiveness of your sunscreen against the sun’s hazardous UV rays. To get the right dose of Vitamin C, liberally apply a Vitamin C serum to your face, eat more citrus fruit, and eat plant-based sources of the vitamin, including spinach and strawberries.

Vitamin E

This powerful antioxidant helps to protect your skin against sun damage and absorbs the UV rays when applied to your skin. Eat lots of nuts and seeds, take a Vitamin E pill, or use topical products containing Vitamin E to supply your skin with this important nutrient.

Keeping your skin healthy from the inside out is essential to look youthful and radiant.

For such a popular skin care ingredient, there’s a lot going on with HA, so beware of love at first use! There are more layers to using HA than the simple equation, Dry Skin + Hyaluronic Acid = Hydrated Skin. In some conditions, the intended results can actually backfire. Think the opposite of clear, dewy, plump skin. So how do you use HA properly?

First - Debunking Common Myths about HA

Hyaluronic Acid is not actually an acid, like glycolic or salicylic acid that exfoliates the skin. HA is a complex sugar, known as a polysaccharide, that occurs naturally in the body providing hydration for our joints, hair, eyes and especially the skin.
