Having glorious skin may seem like a daunting endeavor. There are seemingly so many things that need to be done. While you can certainly use creams and serums if you wish, there are also some fairly basic tasks you can do if you want to have healthy skin throughout the summer.

Drink Water

You should be drinking eight ounces of water daily anyway, but it becomes even more important during the summer when the heat can make you more dehydrated. Ample amounts of water will also be good for your skin by keeping it moisturized. Water also does not have to come from a tap. Leafy greens and watermelons are excellent foods to eat to remain hydrated.

Wash Your Face at Night

During summertime, there may be a lot of items you are applying to your face every day. Sunscreen, makeup and sweat are just a few of the things that can build up. You want to wash them off at the end of every day so that they do not build up and clog your pores. Sweat can lead to breakouts, so if you have been working out, you may want to wash your face after your exercise routine.

Wear Sunscreen All the Time

15 minutes is all it takes for skin to become damaged from constant exposure to sunlight. Stay safe any time you go outside and apply sunscreen. Even if you will be wearing makeup or a moisturizer, you still want sunscreen there as an extra layer of protection.

Stay Inside in the Middle of the Day

The hours between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. are typically when UV rays will be their strongest. If you are going outside, then you should try to schedule it either before 10 or after 4. If you do have to be outside during that time, then you absolutely need to make sure you apply sunscreen.
